DESCRIPTION


Currently, we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager for our Katowice (Poland) office to focus on the growth of the assigned unit.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding and background in Resource Management and act as a Tech Lead or Delivery Manager at the same time. This is an excellent opportunity to rebalance technology and people management focus in favor of the latter. Play a substantial part in developing a core team of the EPAM Katowice office and make a real difference in a measurable way.

Responsibilities

  • Develop discipline’s strategy in Katowice in coordination with other locations
  • Align closely with technology/ marketing/ talent acquisition and delivery teams
  • Hire the right people at the right time and help with their professional growth
  • Control and confirm successful onboarding and adaptation of newcomers
  • Ensure a necessary and sufficient level of employees’ professional motivation
  • Arrange information exchange between employees, units, and the entire company
  • Provide effective project staffing upon request of the project heads
  • Build an effective organizational and managerial structure within the resource group
  • Gather, maintain and expand technological and managerial expertise of employees
  • Identify and grow talents to support succession planning
  • Work cross-functionally with Project/Delivery Managers
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the assigned project

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering (Java/.Net/Front-end/Cloud/Mobile/Data development and project management background)
  • 2+ years of leading a medium-size group of engineers (around 20 ppl)
  • Stress resistance, mental agility, and a “can-do” attitude
  • Strong understanding of project deliverables
  • Deep knowledge of Scrum methodology and SDLC
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational communications skills
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written
