Description


EPAM’s Financial Services Business Unit represents over 20% of EPAM’s revenue and continues to be our fastest growing industry vertical. As Head of Financial Services in the West Coast, you will be responsible for developing and executing a business plan to extend EPAM’s penetration of West Coast based Financial Services companies.

You will be responsible for building and leading a team of account managers responsible for a growing portfolio of Financial Services accounts as well driving new client acquisition strategies. You are strategic, resilient, hands on, engaging with people, and a natural self-starter. You have a passion for solving complex problems and are passionate for helping both the disrupted and disruptors in the financial services industry.

The successful candidate must have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong domain knowledge (eg: retail banking, commercial banking, payments) within the Financial Services industry (established and Fintech’s) and a track history of successfully leveraging this network to grow your business.

What You’ll Do

  • Create business strategies to successfully achieve EPAM business goals:
    • In the first 30 days you will develop your business plan to grow the West Coast Financial Services Business Unit to meet near and long-term company goals
    • Hire and partner with Account Management team to co-develop / support Account plans and strategies for delivery, growth, and client satisfaction
    • Manage and develop team competency coverage through cross-training, leadership development and succession planning
    • Monitor and manage team goals and performance and ensure team understands how they align and relate to broader business goals and strategies
    • Understand the intersection between technology, customers, and business
    • Stay abreast of current and emerging trends, unique opportunities and challenges of the space/markets and geographies in which the clients operate, and how it affects clients’ business and initiatives
  • Develop and oversee delivery approaches:
    • • Partner with EPAM Delivery management on project/program management to ensure successful delivery through an integrated delivery model
    • • Responsible for reviewing and approving all customer proposals to ensure they include wining delivery and commercial approaches
  • Build successful relationships:
    • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with prospects and clients at senior levels as well as external and internal partners to maximize growth within the overall account/client portfolios
    • Manage effective relationships with key internal executives, Solution SME’s, and Sales and Delivery Leaders
    • Deliver on EPAM’s growth and performance objectives
    • Develop and deliver quality and timely performance feedback, collecting input from all appropriate sources

Requirements

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience developing and growing a line of business or business unit, including P&L responsibility, and establishing go to market plans that will be used by sales and marketing teams
  • Knowledge of emerging technology, business models, subject matter, and trends in the Banking, Payments, or Capital Markets
  • Experience managing business units of $100+ million in revenue
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking abilities
  • Ability to operate at the strategic level, yet close enough to the details to add value to clients and be a real support to the team
  • Experience in managing and monitoring performance metrics
  • Exceptional leadership/management skills and superb oral and written communication skills, with seasoned presentation skills
  • Strong industry knowledge or experience with particular emphasis on strategy, consulting and product development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound business acumen; strategic skills; common sense
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
