DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for an Agile Business Analyst for our Prague office to make the team even stronger.

The role will span multiple regulators and be accountable for ensuring all functional and business change aspects of the projects are scoped, documented in the form of user stories, and agreed with all parties. The role will be expected to be “content rich” and will be responsible for working with our business partners, data and technical architects to agree the change and functional design and creation of all associated Agile documentation required for the team to deliver.

The Agile Business Analyst will manage the stakeholders and be responsible for all elements of functional design and change documentation through iterative delivery, and for delivering to required Agile documentation standards back to the business.

In addition, the role involves working within a delivery team to ensure the technical design delivers the required functionality and is consistent with the strategic architecture roadmap.

The role is ‘front to back’ and includes working with the business, Product Owner, developers and test specialists to deliver the solution.

The main business users are based in London, New York and Singapore, and technology teams are based in London and Prague. Most of the requirements originate from the investment bank but the project scope is global and cross cluster so overall the business engagement may be broader.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders to scope the shape of initiatives, define process change, document low level functional design, and own the stakeholder relationship to deliver these artifacts through user stories;
  • Understand and document the business case and benefit and ensure that the design being delivered is fit for purpose and capable of delivering against stated benefits;
  • Consider the business needs and understand what is valuable about the product deliverable and what might threaten that value;
  • Contribute to the business case, requirements and scope where required;
  • Be responsible for documentation of the requirements (where this is not done by the business) as user stories including acceptance criteria;
  • Be responsible for producing user story mapping covering requirements and technical design ensuring this is added to by developers as required;
  • Be responsible for working with business on future business operating model;
  • Attend and provide input into key Agile ceremonies;
  • Translate business strategy/request into executable and understandable artifacts for developers. Specifically, the creation & maintenance of detailed user stories covering all deliverables (process, people, IT, control);
  • Interface with all required areas within the firm: Technology, Treasury and other group functions;
  • Ensure compliance with PMO, Programme and Project standards as needed;
  • Contribute to the team demo at the end of an iteration and present work completed;
  • Work with the Test Specialist to ensure documented acceptance criteria and user stories are testable.

Requirements

  • Broad banking knowledge of Retail, Wealth and Corporate;
  • Good data mining and interrogation skills using SQL or similar;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including ability to think beyond what the users initially put forward as requirements and factor in the appropriate level of functional and technical future proofing;
  • Good understanding of Agile principles and documentation of user stories and use cases;
  • Good understanding of best practice business processes and controls and application of those principles to the end solution;
  • Understanding of how to complete the project such that the solution is fully adopted and integrated within the business operating model and considered early enough in the project;
  • Good understanding of BDD and how to apply this in an Agile environment;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with senior management and various other stakeholders, both verbally and in written form. Must be forthright and capable of challenging where proposed solutions, approach etc. are not appropriate;
  • Production of high quality auditable artefacts and signoffs that adhere to the agreed project lifecycle standards;
  • Ability to prepare standard and ad-hoc presentation decks in a timely manner on required topics, from high level functional overview to detailed technical overview of key data flows;
  • Ability to effectively engage and work with a global team;
  • Self-motivation and initiation traits;
  • Good team player, able to balance the needs of stakeholders and IT, and able to manage internal IT conflicts and demands as needed;
  • Emotionally intelligent.
