DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst for our Warminster, PA office to make the team even stronger.

This position is a long-term project with a customer in applicant screening area, serving the largest and most respected organizations, institutions, corporations and government entities around the country and around the world.

This project is a complete re-write of the existing business-critical system. The old system has been in place for ~10 years, it's been outdated in terms of technologies, user experience, and business needs. The new system replaces outdated one in terms of existing functionality, while totally re-think user experience and use a modern stack of technologies. The system itself is similar to case management systems, heavily relying on workflows, with lots of reports and custom business-specific functionality, with strong security requirements applicable to all parts of the system.

EPAM team works on the middle layer of the system, building a basic framework, and implementing specific modules based on this framework. It's a long-term involvement that will also require a long-term commitment from the candidate(s).

Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs);
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks, and workflow analysis. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs;
  • Learn each part of the organization, such as Business, Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT and HR Possess an understanding of how each business unit interacts and the KPIs that are important to each of the units. Perform analysis for how IT can better align to business needs;
  • Be responsible for working with the IT Help Desk to determine whether system issues are valid issues or user error before the issues are handed off to developers. Be able to use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to solve issues as they come in. Assist with Help Desk coverage;
  • Run monthly reports as well as complete ad-hoc reporting when required.

Requirements

  • Trade school or industry certification, college degree or equivalent skillset;
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in a written form;
  • Ability to work well with a diverse population;
  • Knowledge of computer terminology and parts of a computer. Knowledge of various necessary software and hardware programs. Basic Excel skills are required;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects. Recognize difficult situations and prioritize/respond accordingly;
  • Enthusiastic, motivated self-learner who is an excellent team player.
